The place is almost certainly Lanshan Work Station / 嵐山工作站, part of the old Lanshan Forest Railway / 嵐山森林鐵道 system in Xiulin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan, in the Taroko mountain area near Rongshan / 榮山. The key clue is not just the Chiang Kai-shek portrait. A Chinese source describing 嵐山工作站 says the old office contained documents, desks, nameplates, abacus, typewriter, mimeograph machine, kerosene lamps, seals, a fireplace and, specifically, the famous Chiang portrait in the entrance.
