What if I am scared to let disgust set in bcuz I know the finality of it. Logically, I understand and I've allowed so much betrayal and lies. I know I'm holding on to the idealized version of a life with him. I'm so lost and confused and sad that I have yet to learn this lesson. unfortunately, it's not the first time experiencing this pain. Soooo I'm writing down in my notes app every single thing that has disgusted me. The worst and the smallest things. When I remember the good times or miss him I go back to this note, add one reason to be disgusted and re-read the previous ones. Slowly building up the disgust.

Disgust CAN be practised, just keep winding yourself up about all the tiny details about the BEHAVIOUR. Then you get there…. Its one of the MOST effective ways to break the “trauma bond”. X💛

It came for me when I wrote down everything he did/didn’t do for me and compared that to my side. When I would get nostalgia I would read that list repeatedly to remind myself of the REAL behavior I was trying to ignore.
