A “happy crush” I never thought would go this deep. I still don’t know how I ended up falling for him. Maybe it was the way he carries himself with kindness and respect, always the gentleman. Maybe it was his smile, his intelligence, or the effortless charm he has without even trying. But what truly stayed with me was how he remembers the little things. Even though I only asked him to buy me a lollipop once, he still bought one for me without me asking again. It may have been a small gesture to him, but to me, it meant so much because it showed that he actually listens and remembers the little things I say. He also always borrows my Rubik’s Cube, and of course, I never say no. Whenever I ask someone else to shuffle it for me, somehow he’s always there to take it from them and say, “Ako na.” Then, after I finish solving it, he smiles and says, “Ayan ang galing oh.” Those little moments probably mean nothing to anyone else, but to me, they’re the kind of memories I find myself replaying over and over. Every time I see him arrive at school, I can’t help but smile. Just seeing him is enough to brighten my day, even if we don’t get to talk much. Then my friend told me that he had already noticed I like him. I honestly didn’t know whether to laugh or hide because I thought I was doing such a good job of keeping my feelings to myself. I was so embarrassed, but at the same time, my heart couldn’t help but race. I’m not trying to assume anything or expect him to feel the same. I just know that what started as a simple happy crush slowly turned into genuine admiration. Without even realizing it, he became one of my favorite parts of every school day.
