You should only leave it in for max 30 minutes I read as it can cause protein overload which can make your hair dry and brittle I use my rice water spray before the shower

some hair just doesn't take well to oils and it needs a thinner/lighter consistency. it's all about finding out what works well for your hair and what it can handle! for me oils work really well and my hair has been getting thicker and longer using a rosemary one but like I said some hair may just not like a thick oil
