Over the last few years I’ve struggled with my body image more than ever before. I’ve found myself wanting a flat belly and afraid of what others will think of me if I look like I’ve gained weight. My biggest fear has been people assuming I am pregnant because that’s my hearts greatest desire right now and my stomach & uterus love to pooch themselves out. (Like, For some reason I feel like I even have to say on this post I am not pregnant lol) But, as I was moving my body today & loving her well. I got so mad. I got so mad at our world and what is told to us is “healthy.” As someone who wants to care for their body well because the Lord created it, I felt the Lord say, “no where in the Bible is it written: keep a flat stomach and eat at a calorie deficit.” The Lord wants us to care for our bodies & to steward them well, but that doesn’t mean starve ourselves or over work ourselves for a result that He never asked us for in the first place. In case you needed to be reminded: You can be healthy and strong and still have a belly that rounds out. You can be healthy and strong and not be eating in a caloric deficit. You can be healthy and strong and have a body that looks different than the person doing the same thing you are. Your body is beautiful my friend. Let’s get this nasty narrative out of our heads that tinier bodies means a life that’s more “valuable.” Thats the biggest lie I’ve ever heard. Love your body. Feed it well. Move it & care for it. And find value in who the Lord says you are. Ok, that’s all. I know this isn’t my normal content but I know someone needed this too.🫶🏼🕊️ #bodyimage #godsimage #bodystewardship #christianwoman
