@goliathliftzz: We hear it all the time in training: “Just do what works best for you.” And to some extent, that’s true. But only if you understand what can actually be adjusted and what can’t. If you’ve been following my content, we’ve already covered a few of these ideas from different angles. We talked about effective reps and how only the last reps near failure actually create a meaningful growth signal. We broke down why chasing more volume doesn’t always work, and how efficiency becomes more important as you get more advanced. We also touched on how your body operates within fixed recovery windows, usually around 48–72 hours, no matter how much you want to push beyond that. So if someone tells you “oh light squeezing sets just work best for me”, you know it’s a lie lol. But again, not everyone is trying to get as big as possible, so that’s another thing to consider. Once you understand those principles, you realize that not everything in training is flexible. You can absolutely adjust your training to fit your structure. Your limb lengths, your joint comfort, your exercise selection—those all matter. They determine how you apply the work. I’m a great example as a 6’6 lifter. I have to adapt many exercises because of my structure. But I know hypertrophy, fat loss and biochemical principles work the same way in a 5’5 guy and me. A muscle grows the same way. It still requires high levels of recruitment, mechanical tension, and sufficient recovery to adapt. Your nervous system still behaves the same way, prioritizing efficiency and only calling in the fibers that matter when the demand is high enough. That’s why effort isn’t optional. And why simply “feeling” like something works isn’t the same as creating the conditions for growth. The mistake most people make is trying to personalize everything before understanding the system itself. They adjust endlessly—exercises, programs, splits—without ever anchoring those decisions in the principles that actually drive results. You start by understanding the non-negotiables. Then you adapt them to your body. Individuality matters, but only after you respect the rules that govern how the body actually adapts. #hypertrophytraining #musclegrowth #gymknowledge #goliathliftzz #trainhardorgohome

Exactly!! People go too far with the whole “what works best for me” thing and eventually just completely go against physiological principles🤷♂️
