@wildlifewithcookie: The closest thing to a living Thylacine I’ll ever see 🐅 Perth Museum has an extremely well preserved Thylacine that was found in a cave on the Nullabor Plain in Western Australia in 1966. Due to the conditions of the cave, the remains were so well preserved that its fur and stripes were still visible which led to some people thinking it died recently however it’s actually over 4000 years old 🧬 Humans wronged and demonised the Thylacine so much that by the 1930s, they were all but gone. In 1936, they got a protected status but the damage was already done. The last known Thylacine died in captivity on September 7th, 1936 🪦 We have a few photos, videos and taxidermy’s to remember it by but the closest you’ll get to seeing the real thing is at Perth Museum 🇦🇺 #thylacine #tasmaniantiger
