We have two pyranese and Anatolian mixes, and they have a stronger bite than the cane corso. The ones I have don’t need training to protect. They are incredible! The best decision we have ever made. They have already taken on two bears and a mountain lion. But if your heart is set on the cane, then I definitely hope you find the best one for your baby.

Yes I had one back home Naples Italy cane corso is very good with children they are extremely loving protective dog my was so sweet and very very clever and for young children this type of dog will protect them he will die for them get one you will never regret

My best advice is to get from a working line, not just someone who only breeds them. As someone who trains my own LGDs , in my experience working lines are worth it for the job you need them for. It is vastly easier to train when they've been with the parents working on the job. Best of luck on your guardian journey it is so rewarding!

I have had 2 they are beautiful Angels in fur 😇they become part of your pack they automatically take on the roll as family protectors i had a male before hes was gorgeous and amazing company he was brilliant around my kids & would warn people if they came near where my kids were playing.Now we have a female she is gorgeous an still young but showing amazing potential.They are such a loyal and authentic bread i cant see past them ❤️

we have had our corso with 3 boys here for around 3 months now. Do it, honestly the love and loyalty is unmatched. Hes so soft with me and the youngest but hes picked things up instantly. By far the best thing I've ever done for the kids, he follows them into every bush and doesnt hesitate if they feel threatened but his recall is insane, honestly, not a dog person, until we got our Corso x

I had 1 and she was the best dog. She passed during Covid, she was 12. She was amazing with the kids, amazing with people, a total love bug. But! It’s important to get them as puppies in order to train them. They are very dominant and have to be handle with respect. Which I do not doubt that you will. Females are better with kids, males tend to be a bit more unpredictable. I had a female, I was very strict with her training the first year. They need to know you are in charge and that you respect them and they are family. They make amazing family members and body guards. You will not regret it but get a trainer.

Cane corso are a breed very family orientated but can be aloof with strangers and if you have people coming in and out it could be stressful on that breed. It's great you are in touch with a trainer in protection already for sure. I don't know that you have dog shows where you can meet the breed and learn about them because these are places where the breeders are and are usually really excited to talk about and educate others. You want a breeder with knowledge and a family line that can prove their dogs and their history. You do not want to get a breed like this without an ethical breeder because back yard breeding genetics and medical can be scewed so bad you end up with a neurotic dog who cannot be trained and could pose risk. This is for many breeds especially when your kids are involved and if that means the breeder with the best fit is far from home so be it. I hope you find the perfect fit for your family and lifestyle and there is a special one that could handle the in and out of strangers.

Cane corsos are amazing with children they will follow them around , training is very important if trained properly they can be controlled with just voice commands. My hubby got us one because we hike a lot and in our area we have mountain lions and coyotes and with her we are more aware of our surroundings and definitely feel safer .. we have many animals and she does amazing with all animals cats dogs birds. When talking with a breeder please ask about parents history temperament and grandparents , temperament is so important.. They are the bestest dogs naturally watch the kids and property
