i’m currently studying the book of matthew and i find the constant theme is revolving around who Jesus is; the Transfiguration especially. i believe it was after john the baptist’s death when he woke on water after feeding the five thousand and when the disciples saw him on the water they questioned him and he said “it is i, do not be afraid” and “it is i” can be translated in greek to “I AM” which goes directly back to the Old Testament. it’s so crazy how many cross references there are
