I got a once in a lifetime experience last year in Hawaii, nuclear sub just cruised through like no big deal. Maybe one of, if not the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.

I spent 4 yrs stationed on a US Submarine ... SSBN ... (Nuclear Missile Boat) two crews a Gold amd a Blue crew. When the Gold crew is out to sea the Blue crew is home ... we generally do two patrols a year ... 3 months out Three months home ... roughlt 6 months a year out to sea. So, in 4 yrs (normal sea time requirement) thats about 2 yrs of your life out to sea under water.

what you didn't know or did not add is that the Los Angeles class submarine cannot do this! Ever. The reason why is because the Fairwater Plains which are on the sale do not have a vertical position. Without the vertical position they would be damaged going through the ice so Los Angeles class submarines are banned from going under Arctic ice. Other attack submarines or specifically designed to be able to go under Arctic ice but not the Los Angeles class. The more you know…
