@nesburgie: When putting on a shoe becomes a full production 😅👟 Y’all… if you ever needed a reminder to not take the little things for granted—this is it. This video right here? That’s me… just trying to get my shoe on. Not running a marathon. Not climbing a mountain. Just. A. Shoe. 🤦‍♀️ Between the brace, the swelling, and my foot doing its own stubborn thing, it takes me forever. I’ve got shoehorns like I’m a 90-year-old man, twisting, turning, saying a few choice words, and praying the whole time 🙃😂 Some days I win… some days the shoe almost wins. This is my everyday life right now. For those that don’t know—Charcot foot is a condition where the bones in your foot become weak and can actually fracture and collapse. Most of the time you don’t even feel it happening like you should because of nerve damage. So what looks like “just a foot problem” is actually serious… we’re talking swelling, deformity, and needing to stay off of it so it can heal properly. And healing? Baby, it’s not overnight. I’m looking at about 6 months in this “Charcot process.” SIX. MONTHS. 😳 So this brace? This big, bulky, not-so-cute thing? Yeah… she’s my new best friend. We go everywhere together now 😂 I won’t lie—some days are frustrating. Some days I want to throw the whole shoe across the room and just stay barefoot forever. But then I remind myself… I’m still standing. I’m still fighting. And this is just a season. If you see me moving slow, struggling a little, or taking 10 minutes to put on a shoe—just know I’m doing the best I can with what I’ve got 💛 And if you’re going through something hard too—whatever it is—give yourself some grace. We’re all out here fighting battles nobody sees.
