Pat it dry and season generously on all sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (or any seasonings you prefer). Heat oil in a pan over medium-low heat and sear the fat cap for about 1 minute. Cook the steak for about 4 minutes per side, then reduce the heat and sear the edges for about 1 minute. Add butter and garlic, and baste for another minute. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before serving.
