many believe it was not a global flood but more of a localized one. also the ark did not land on Mt. Everest. the animals were brought by kind, not necessarily 2 of every animal. 1 pair of canine, not 2 golden retrievers or 2 wolves, or 2 coyote but 2 of the canine kind. another thing to think about is that theses are not necessarily full grown sized animals.....just something to think about

Those estimates are based on species of animals existing today. Noah did not have to take all the species we see on the planet today. Just young ancestors of cat like dog like dinosaurs could have been young ones etc..
