@darklens_30: 🇺🇸 Berlin Township, Michigan — April 20, 2024 What started as a child’s birthday party… ended in unimaginable tragedy. 67-year-old Marshella Chidester spent the afternoon drinking before getting behind the wheel of her vehicle. Earlier that day, surveillance footage reportedly showed her consuming alcohol at home after purchasing multiple bottles of wine. Hours later, everything changed. Before arriving at the Swan Boat Club, Chidester had already crashed into a nearby fence. But the most devastating moment came around 3 p.m. Driving at approximately 44 mph with no brakes applied and the accelerator pressed down, her vehicle slammed directly through the wall of the crowded building where families had gathered for a children’s birthday celebration. The car tore deep into the party area. Four-year-old Zayn Phillips was pinned beneath the vehicle. His eight-year-old sister, Alanah, became trapped near the impact zone. Both children died at the scene. The crash injured 15 other people, including the children’s older brother, who faced a long and painful recovery in the months that followed. When officers arrived, investigators reported that Chidester showed clear signs of intoxication. Toxicology tests later revealed a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit. During trial proceedings, the defense suggested a possible medical episode may have contributed to the crash, but prosecutors presented surveillance footage, witness testimony, and toxicology evidence detailing the events leading up to the collision. After deliberating for only two hours, the jury returned guilty verdicts on multiple charges, including second-degree murder and operating while intoxicated causing death and serious injury. A devastating reminder of how one decision behind the wheel can destroy multiple lives in seconds. 🎥 Follow @darklens_30 for more dark true crime & shocking history like this. #viral #reels #truecrime #news #story
