Was lucky enough to visit the area last year and whilst walking around, found the beautiful statue tribute to Anne, just around the corner. I couldn't believe that no one was stopping to look and she was just standing there on her own, it felt so wrong. I spent a good bit of time there and slowly others did begin to stop, look and take photos of it. This felt like such a small example of why it is so important we keep telling these stories, so these people and what they went through, are not forgotten. 🖤

I was so sad to not be able to get a ticket for the museum after trying for months. But even seeing the house from outside is a harrowing thing. Definitely didn't feel like the right place for a selfie

I remember reading The Diary of Anne Frank and just trying to imagine if I had to live like that… so heartbreaking and still hard to believe that that was real and people lived and died through that. 💔 but I agree, it should be for remembrance and honour. Not selfie city…

I always find it weird when people complain about crowds of tourists taking photos and filming, while they themselves are a tourist taking photos and filming

I was lucky enough to go inside when I was about 15. I cried as soon as we went through the hidden door. So very moving

I remember visiting here on a school trip over 40 years ago. Ashamed to admit the meaning and importance of it was a bit lost on me at such a young age. It moves me very much now though, I hope her story is never lost
