my mom and I have been doing it for years.. we actually found one we really loved and ended up becoming friends with the homeowner.. he was an older man whose wife was in assisted living for dementia.. his kids were all grown and he loved seeing families use his pool and beautiful back yard . he would come out and eat with us when we brought food or BBQ and ended up just letting us use his pool like we were family without renting...

I think it’s a great idea - I wish someone had an adult version. We don’t have children but would want to invite friends & we definitely want to drink etc. a lot of them will have no alcohol rules etc.

i used to do this before my parents moved. had a local elderly couple that rented often. we ended up just letting them come whenever for free. they were so respectful and nice. stocked up the outdoor fridge for us when we were lacking and slow!
