CBT for my complex trauma ended up being a huge waste of time and money, i also found it a bit insulting for the trauma i went through. somatic therapy all the way 🖤

What else do you recommend for complex trauma? My therapist and I have been doing typical cbt and it’s been effective in a lot of places but she suggested we try DBT to try to dig into my childhood trauma

I need input! I have only been seeing a therapist for maybe a month and I had reached out to a different therapist prior that I was more interested in working with but they didn’t have availability. They now do - but I have found out it’s actually my current therapist’s previous clinical supervisor and they’re both about to be working in the same place! I believe what’s best for me is to work with the clinical supervisor. Should I disclose to my current therapist that I’m going to work with this person? Or not? I will likely run into her at the clinic.
