Spirit wasn’t horrible. They got a lot of hate because it was a budget airline that nickel and dime’d customers to the point where they weren’t a budget airline. The flight itself was about $200 cheaper, but once you paid a fee for choosing your seat, paid a fee for your carry on, paid a fee for your checked bag, fee here, fee there, it cost as much as Delta, United, etc…

It's corporate greed. Spirit used to be good. Then they started nickel and dimeing everyone. But I don't think they deserved to go under. And yes the merger with jet blue and spirit wasn't a good idea either.

I agree my son is autistic and was having a really hard time flying they were so kind and supportive. He was very scared of flying and he started having a panic attack. I’m so grateful they helped him understand what to expect and made sure to check on him during our flight. This makes me sad

I once bought a $150 ticket from Spirit Airlines, and you know what I got? a $150 flight. Truly the only company that was charging for what you got fairly.

Regardless of anyone’s personal feelings about Spirit, there are two reasons why their shut down is bad. 1) It leaves so many people without jobs. 2) There is now less competition for the other airlines. When there is less competition it’s us, the consumers, who end up losing.
