Absolutely junk when making power. You’re making the car prone to hopping and you’ll start tweaking the springs. Caltracs or traction bars are the only way, it’s not the 70’s 80’s anymore

No air shocks, unless you need tire clearance. Traction bars and JRI shocks or, even better Cal-trac and JRI’s. Sweet ride tho it meets the vibe

I had a 1978 in 1985. Traction is not the problem with these cars. The problem is the emissions that had the horsepower at 170.

I love slapper bars, but when I switched to caltracs hooking got so much smoother. Plus the adjustment is awesome

You want seperation not sqaut. You need to get your pinion angle to about -3 to -4 to actually have your slapper bars do what they are supposed to do.

If you raised the front spring eye up .750 and added adjustable shocks you’d put your instant center at 110% antisquat. Those bars are a bandaid.

Best money I ever spent on my 80 was doing a four link rear end. Ladders are great though.

I miss my slapper bars, I got a sway bar now but it just doesn’t look the same… rides better but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the motion in the ocean lol

Longer bars … 😉.. right under the leaf front shackle .. no bending the spring… straight lift from axle torque.. short bars just bends the springs more than needed
