I got stranded in NYC when a British airline shut down (it happened when I was in the middle of the Atlantic on a cruise from the UK). But our govt put on “rescue flights” so we ended up on the British Airlines flight we originally wanted but couldn’t justify the cost for lol

Thats actually INSANE how their website says “spirit airlines is winding down its operations” that’s not winding down! Thats a hard stop! Thats terrifying for everyone involved

You can get your money back by filing a dispute with your bank - I worked disputes when it happened last time and we got everyone’s money back - they can’t keep the money and not give services

Nope, the shut down happens instantly. If you're flying in the air when the announcement is made, they just shut off the engine and let you fend for yourself how to get back on the ground. 🙄

I work for an airport where a lot of the Spirit Airlines flights go out in the morning. There are actually quite a lot of flights going out- especially to Miami.

Previous video for me was a passenger on a spirit plane listening to the pilot telling them they were one of the last 2 spirit flights in the air.

How is there no consumer protection? It must have been crazy to be on the plane ready to leave then get told to get off and figure it out yourself
