@ericanic0le: 10+ years of dealing with acne, rosacea & dermatitis is EXHAUSTING. And just when I think I have it all under control, something triggers it. The back & forth is just so draining & I wake up every single day wondering if my skin got worse overnight. If anybody has any tips for how to manage environmental skin triggers pleaseeee let me know 🥹

Have you checked your home for mold? Just bc you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. I’d get mold testing done. It doesn’t always affect everyone in the household. better symptoms when gone from your home usually points to mold

“Normal” acne cannot come and go like this, there’s definitely something else wrong.

omg I felt this 🫠 that constant “what triggered it this time?” loop is draining… weather, products, stress, food, everything feels like a risk. I used to feel so frustrated and hyper-aware of my skin every single day. it was exhausting. I thought I just had to keep trying new products. wasted so much time. then a friend told me about the Eat Like a Woman Protocol written by loren green… 30 lbs gone, skin finally stable, no more random flare cycles. my favourite one tbh, why is no one talking about this

You should do an air quality test to check for toxicity and mold. There are companies that come out and do it!

Could be a histamine reaction maybe! I have chronic illnesses as well including MCAS and high histamine foods, fragrances, chemicals, environmental, stress does this to me

I know this sounds so annoying and counterproductive, but nervous system regulation & not focusing on acne helps a lot. In struggled

This definitely looks like irritation to me. I agree it’s environmental like air or water quality. I agree with others to consider mold. Especially if it goes away and comes back when you’re home. Also just checking - do you use the same laundry products at home as you do in Florida? Any products your husband uses that could cause a flare? Pets? I wouldn’t necessarily worry about MCAS if it’s more situational!

I saw a girl who figured out that her mattress was made of material that was breaking her out. MCAS could be the case but it would be related to having a reaction to something. It sounds like there’s something in your home

As a fellow chronic illness girly I recommend tracking your symptoms and trying to identify triggers. Try stripping your skincare and makeup right back to basics for a while, track hormones, possible environmental stressors, diet etc. hopefully this help narrow down the cause
