are there duration requirements for mania or hypomania? If someone starts on Prozac and one or two weeks into it has moments of highly elated mood—wouldnt that be a moment of encouragement that treatment may be good even if the response to med is jagged? I guess I'm wondering if there is a wait and see period necessary before making a diagnostic determination. What is your experience and clinical findings on this? Thanks again for the video.

I was on antidepressants for 2-3 years before I was diagnosed with hypomania. I don’t think I ever had an episode until that first documented one.

I have bipolar type 2 and SSRIs will switch my mood. the very first time I tried, I asked to stop because I felt so unnaturally happy 😅

What if I started Prozac, this didn’t happen. BUT four weeks later I increased my dose from 20 to 30 & a few days later I felt hypomanic… couldn’t sleep for a few days, woke up with amazing energy regardless, I was SO happy, compulsive, talking non stop. Cleaned my house from top to bottom. But then it just goes away after four or five days?? Because I finally slept last night and I feel more calm. Is there a chance this could come back….?
