Givara | جيفارا :
i am also fascinated by griffith's determination of having an own kingdom, he was very aware of absolutly everything that was going on around him, whether knowing how the world of berserk works, or knowing what role he plays in that world and how it affects other people, but i disagree, that griffith's mindset is utilitaristic, yes, he wanted to change the country he would rule so that the civilians can live better, but everything he has done and is doing is all for the sake of his greed, he wanted the whole world to acknowledge him, by melting the physical and the astral world, griffith made the physical world a lot more dangerous to live in, leading to the fact that people HAVE to go to falconia (griffith’s kingdom in the manga) to live peacefully because there was no other place that was safer, he knew that people died and will die if they dont go to falconia but that doesnt bother him because for him being a king is not for the sake of others, but only for himself. His dream has always been about fulfilling his own desire to stand above everyone else, even if achieving it requires immense sacrifice and suffering. The eclipse: the eclipse occurred because griffith was at his lowest point, but whose fault is it that he was in that state? guts? he blames guts for it but guts ist most definitely not guilty for the torture, if griffith would've thought a little bit more rational about it, instead of clinging onto the narcissistic belief that he has to absolutly own everything he locks his eyes on, he would never have done anything impulsive, and the people that saved him had to pay with their lives against their will, just for griffith to play king in his pathetic dollhouse, falconia.
