This was the sad part of the story because that's exactly what he did for her, he loved her like no one else did. Taylor was right, he was never meant to save her and instead, he actually delayed the inevitable 3 years in order to let her experience what it was actually like to really be loved by someone. She had to pass away though in order for Ryan to finally know what it was like to be truly loved by someone, vice versa and that's why Taylor ended up being the right person for him, for each other. It was their turn to experience real love like they never had. The OC is one of my favorite shows, I just love how it was written and the cast was so good.
