try using staggered levels of solder for differnt steps to prevent the remelting in later stages, like if you solder the box and link with a higher melting point solder, then when you heat it up again to attach the diamond, use a lower temp one and you won’t have to heat it up so hot! and the other pieces you solder first won’t be hot enough to flow

if you wanted to try a different heat shielding method try using whiteout if you haven’t! it works great especially when i’m doing really tight bracelet hinge repairs
