You can’t work your way to retirement unless you’re in that executive Dr lawyer type job before your body starts breaking down. You need to have a second income. Start some kind of business and save every dollar you can.

I will never retire . I’m 43 have 5 kids , worked OT wy whole life . Suppose if I started putting away now I could still have a chance . Made between 40 and 120 gs a year my whole life .. America is not for the weak . My house will be my retirement likely little inheritance for my kids .

You can do this. I got myself out of $60k debt at 57 and started aggressively saving for retirement at 59. I’m 62 now so much older than you. I started at 0. I will prob work till 67 but I will have saved/invested close to $900k by then so that and SS will be just enough so I won’t be making cardboard signs. Don’t give up!

A woman was in a Walmart i had to restock and she said she cant even pay for her pills because they became more than what her social security gives her and she cant work. Its getting terrible

when I was 50 that was 2008 on the bottom fell out of the housing market and I had all my savings and everything I owned in it. I built home for my brother I built home from my mother and built home for myself my brother lost his house first I lost the house I was building and had to sell it for half of what I had in it I couldn't get a job for almost 4 years and started to turn around in 2016. then 20/20 and I was laid off from work again and I'm 67 and this is a fifth time in my life I have adjusted my bearings and plan to work the rest of my life. it happens to the best of us.
