No. Spirit was another victim of private equity. After being acquired and rapidly driven into chapter 11 in 2024, they ended up this year into a strict restructuring that, yes, banked on a low cost fuel budget that, AMONG OTHER THINGS in the agreement, strangled the airline. Trump was a villain here, but not alone.
