I’m not an expert by any means, but I did write a paper on this for one of my courses at uni. It’s also important to note that majority of the world can’t afford to buy ‘sustainable’ products (which even that is a scam most of the time..), so it’s actually a privilege to be able to boycott fast fashion 💀. Fast fashion does not only include shein and temu!! Buying from a shop in person doesn’t necessarily make it more ethical or sustainable. Consumers do have a responsibility to choose ethical and sustainable products and practices, but we cannot ignore that we are victims of a systemic issue as those choices are largely unaffordable. The same goes for healthy/more nutritious choices. We shouldn’t have to choose between eating healthier or not eating at all. We have very little power, the onus is on large corporations and conglomerates. We should be lobbying against them, not each other! Great video as usual !!

Shein is literally a marketplace like Amazon. They have their own brand also like but it’s all sourced from outside of the company and sellers also can list their items on the site.

And to add to this, as a plus sized woman and single mother, I can’t go to the thrift stores and shop because they don’t carry my size most of the time. I deserve to be clothed. SHEIN carries up to 6X. I can’t afford to shop at the over priced plus sized stores.
