Have you tried the plastic razor blades? Supposedly they clean the gasket off, but won't cut into the surface.

On thursday I had to replace an oil cooler on a 3.6 jeep because the customer installed his own water pump. Put the long alternator bolt in one of the holes and pushed it through the plastic oil cooler. There was oil EVERYWHERE.

U mentioned about putting the spindle of the thermostat up so it prevents any oxygen bubbles from getting into the system, then I saw u suck it all up with the machine. My question is did u do it for the video to show how to further perfect the job or do u think it’s absolutely necessary to do both, I don’t have shop or cool equipment so im looking for a economical solution on it.. thanks in advance tho, vid was great!

That was a pain in the butt when you’re replacing the water pump and fan clutch assembly at the same time 😂

I almost never have loose cardboard around so what I’ve done in the past is get the new water pump out and as I’m taking bolts out, put them in the bolt holes of the new pump and transfer them back over to the old pump once it’s out. Helps me put them in the correct spot on the new one

Instead of sucking on the hose, You could also open the valve and lower it into the bucket until its full, then close the valve and lift it out and just wipe the hose off as you lift it.

I did this repair on my ‘14 the night before a road trip. Fought with the fan blade for an hour… went for a poop…. Watched a YouTube video…. Realized it was reverse thread… most productive bathroom break of my life

Where did you get those dishwasher shields for under the units? That’s a great hack. Not sure the wife will love it if I snag our only one lol
