My grandpa passed from Alzheimer’s at 69 and my mom (his daughter) just passed from Lewy body dementia at 62. I told my husband to just release me into the woods or strap me to a rocket.

Hi here is my story im 56 Early onset Alzheimer's mom of 4 37 35 27 26 I am so scared for them. @Diane Amelia | ALZ 💜:Well that is a great question? I have sat and thought about it. I think i had a hint something was wrong 20 years ago I was 36. I had test ran for the brain they thought MS. It was not. I remember the Person mentioning brain matter mass not looking good I got no explanation. The reason admitted to hospital was Fainting, syncope possible seizure. I also have Hypothyroidism. I had small children stress off chart traveling for work. Fast forward missed words and trouble remembering. Never slept to little and in and out of hotels traveling. Driving long hours and the feeling of dehydration. Poor eating habits. I already knew maternal grandfather passed of a lengthy bout of Alzheimer’s which now I wonder was it Lewey Body. He started acting aggressive late 1979-80s. He thought the war still going on, people under the bed with guns bayonets, didn't recognize grandma became unsafe to the family and himself. I told my mother several times I was worried I would get it. While I was in late 30and 40s. I Think my mom was battling it from 2015 to 2021. I told her in 2020 I was really worried I would get it things didn't seem right. She didn't disagree but she hoped I wouldn't. She only lived in final stage from July- Sept same year in care due to Covid-19. I was glad she did not live like her father 20 years in nursing home. That would be my prayer as well. My option is for me and my family everyone else has a different point of view im sure. 1 year ago I was met with alot of memory loss, word search balance. Focal seizures brain bleeds identified. I pushed Alzheimer's testing and each one warranted the next. From July to Sept 2025 I got the diagnosis. So here is how I got here.

I would find out start treatments and exercise, eat right. I would want to know to ensure I lived years going forward happy not working my ass off taking promotions traveling and missing out on my kids. Just my honest thoughts. aI am looking back now wondering how many years I have left with Diagnosis its scary.

I’ve heard that heavy metal detoxes have shown improvement with people in this case. Just wanted to mention because it’s worth a try 🥺🥰🥰🥰

There are new treatments that can remove the proteins from your brain and help reverse the effects. Probably hella expensive in the US but might be worth looking into the cost intentionally and traveling there for treatment instead of losing yourself.

I feel this but its because my mom passed from ALS and no one else that I'm aware of in my family has had it. She suffered slowly and it takes everything away physically but mentally you are still completely there. PTSD from being her caregiver.
