I remember when I started my fitness journey, I used to compare myself to other girls in the gym all the time, but here's what I've learned... 1. We could be doing the exact same workouts, and eat the exact same thing and STILL have completely different physiques. Because we're BUILT different. The truth is genetics play a huge role in the shape of your body (ex: the way you store fat, the way you build muscle, the shape of your glutes, your metabolism, etc.) You can't change your genetics. But you CAN change other factors, like your eating habits or your exercise routine. Focus on what you can control. 2. Don't compare your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20. If you JUST started working on your fitness goal, you can't expect to have the same results as someone who's been at it for 1-2 years already. You might have the same fitness goal (ex: get toned), but every single person in the gym has their own journey and it will look different for everyone. Focus on your own progress instead. 3. Learn to celebrate the small victories. Whether it's lifting a little heavier, finishing that last rep, or simply showing up, it's important to take a moment to recognize how far you've come. 4. When you find yourself comparing, try to focus on what you can learn from others rather than feeling inadequate or putting yourself down. Instead of coming from a place of "jealousy" or "envy", try to shift your mindset to come from a place of admiration or inspiration. 5. And finally... It took me a long time to realize this but, fitness is about more than just aesthetics; it’s about building strength, gaining confidence, and living a healthier lifestyle. Enjoy the workouts, learn how to nourish your body. Emphasize how good it feels to move and take care of yourself, rather than just the end result. Bottom line is... Everyone has different goals, differents genetics, different lifestyles. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is the person you were yesterday and strive to be better today. #gymgirlmotivation #fitnessgirlmotivation #comparisonisthethiefofjoy #gymmindset #fitnessmotivation #beginnergymtips #beginnergymgirl
