Alright as a 31 old who occasionally still stays in hostels, it really depends on the hostel. Party hostels you kind of age out of while other places will still be completely fine.

I’m 26 and I’ve met people from 18-50 years old. It depends what hostels and where you are going but no you aren’t too ‘old’

On a trip to France and Spain last year I stayed in hostels in La Rochelle, Bayonne, Pamplona, Burgos and Santander. I was 59 and there were plenty of people older than me there.

i think it depends on the type of hostel, i’m 30 and i would feel unc in a party hostel but i was just in thailand at some chill hostels and there were a lot of people my age or older.

Just do some research on the reviews and you will find a hostel that fits your vibe!! Party hostels = mainly super drunk 18-22yr olds; LOTS of other hostels = mid 20s and older that are wayyyy more chill. Coming from a 24 yr old full time traveler that feels unc in some hostels 🫶
