Taxes = Shared Services. The roads we all use, the public transportation. It's an investment in our ability to succeed together, attract capital and live a good life, and as life gets better from out roads and capital, society started paying into things we all want, access to healthcare for everyone, free education, retirement. It's not what we pay, it's what we are getting with what we pay. Often by pooling together for things we all want, the things we want individually are now much cheaper, you lose some preferences unless you are willing to pay more for your preference as an individual.
