No I’d say Muay Thai added with boxing movement and integration is op asf,if you guys actually watch Carlos he’s added a lot more footwork,angles and head movement into his arsenal and his punching mechanics are great,same with Petr Yan but the other way around for him he mixes boxing and Muay Thai very well,same with Aldo integrated perfect boxing plus Muay Thai and if we look at the best striker itw asadula he also combines it together imo this is the newest evolution of striking and the most op underrated style

Wrestling and boxing are the best bases for MMA. Muay Thai is amazing too, but you need to have a certain build and physicality to be effective with the style. Charles Oliveira and Carlos Prates are long for their divisions and have crazy power and physicality. Fighters like Fiziev aren't as successful because of their build. Muay Thai only works in MMA with crazy builds/power or crazy speed.

best base is either kickboxing or muay thai then you need to be equally as rounded in grappling wether thats jits judo luta livre etc
