Recipe Name Slow Braised Tomato Garlic Beef Roast Ingredients 1. 4 lb (1.8 kg) beef chuck roast 2. 2 tbsp olive oil 3. 2 tsp salt 4. 2 tsp black pepper 5. 2 tsp smoked paprika 6. 1 tsp garlic powder 7. 1 tsp onion powder 8. 1 tsp dried thyme 9. 1 large onion, diced 10. 2 carrots, diced 11. 6 garlic cloves, minced 12. 2 tbsp tomato paste 13. 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) crushed tomatoes 14. 2 cups beef broth 15. 1 cup dry red wine 16. 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 17. 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar 18. 2 bay leaves 19. 2 tbsp brown sugar 20. 2 tbsp butter 21. 1 tbsp cornstarch 22. 2 tbsp water 23. 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley Recipe 1. Pat the beef roast dry and season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme. 2. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven and sear the roast until browned on every side. 3. Remove the roast and sauté the onion and carrots until softened. 4. Add the garlic and tomato paste, cooking for 1 minute. 5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, and brown sugar. 6. Return the roast to the pot and add the bay leaves. 7. Cover tightly and cook at 325°F (163°C) for 3½–4 hours until fork-tender. 8. Remove the roast and shred or cut into large chunks. 9. Mix the cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce until thickened. 10. Stir in the butter for a rich, glossy finish. 11. Return the beef to the sauce and coat every piece thoroughly. 12.
