What if you never married and split up years ago but have a son together. This son's Dad (my ex) has property and cash but no other children. Who does this property go to ? (in the event of a will not being made)

Going through this at the moment, Dad died and there are two houses to be divided between his wife and myself, we're selling one and keeping the other.. In the future if we decide to sell the remaining house is it still at a 70/30 split or do we decide ourselves???

Keep it real :
Hopefully we will see meaningful reform of inheritance tax also. The operative word being "meaningful". It is quite outrageous in the way it's applied in penalizing childless couples etc!
