@donttalktomeimdaydreamin: Letting Daniel grow old adds so much depth to the story. He’s not as erratic or twitchy and more so than anything, he’s done what most vampires haven’t and that’s live a full mortal life. I think that’s something that makes him not only attractive to Armand but to other vampires too. Like Louis is obviously happy to see that Daniel has gotten older. And everyone says we’re attracted to the unknown so the vampires probably feel drawn to Daniel’s life as a human. I also think it’s really nice because I want to assume that what’s happened is that Armand took Daniel’s memories at the point in the books where Daniel was dying. So instead of turning him, he removed his memories of him and left. But AMC shows that they still would have ended up together regardless of what happened so that’s really heartwarming. It also just goes to show how much Daniel means to Armand because Armand loves his soul, he doesn’t really care that Daniel is an old man now. Because I suppose Armand views himself as an old man, he’ll never see Daniel as an old man. He’ll always be “The Boy”.
