Does it have to stay connected to Wi-Fi though? Like to use the apps and such? That’s the biggest reason I do enjoy my kindle, i dont need Wi-Fi to read a book I have downloaded

The prob with the open system the battery life is not that long. I have both close and open system and the close system lasts waaayyyyyy longer before I charge it again.
