As an anesthesiologist of 30 years I’ve gotten to see the advance of laparoscopic surgery for my entire career. The DaVinci robot is a game changer making all surgeons better and faster. The shorter someone is under general anesthesia the better and the smaller incisions aid recovery.

I’m a nurse in the OR that uses these. The surgeon sits at a console and manipulates the arms and instruments. It’s not a computer doing this. 😭
