@sincerelyjennifergrace: I want to live in a way that the days don’t just pass me by but that I feel like I’m actively shaping them into something more culturally alive. These are five habits I come back to when I want my world to just feel more intelligent and culturally rich. #intellectual #lifelonglearning #humanities #interesting #study
Where do you find your essays? I’m actively looking for sources

These are great. I think that social versions of these are super important too. Chatting, discussing, even arguing about a film or a concert helps you appreciate how you relate to it

These are so great! I do all of these almost every week. One thing I do living in Paris - is go to a local cafe or cultural space and sit here, observing my environment. You notice and overhear some amazing things and surprisingly meet new people!

long firms of reading--scholarly journals of different subjects like psychology, economics, literature, etc (you can become a paying member (20$ or so a month) at a local (or your former) university where you can use their libraries and access online articles--also, the newyorker, n+1, new statesman, arts magazines, etc (you find these in magazines section in any bookstores or the local library--long form journalism articles or research papers are the best at giving you the most current happenings!

Are you learning another language? Seems to be (and to me) an aligned activity with your great perspectives

I do all of this except for journaling, so this is a sign to start 😊 I also diversify my information sources with foreign ones in English or Spanish like DW News which has cultural stories and documentaries. And follow ppl from unfamiliar or isolated cultures like indigenous ppl in the Amazon for their perspective on life

I’m a foreigner and I like to observe the culture in living in as a foreigner but also my own culture. It’s refreshing too. You can’t be racist or xenophobic when you live abroad. It teaches you to stay humble. You’re no one for them they don’t know your story. But you become someone with time and openness.
