The battery life on the Apple Watch is terrible, especially if ur used to a Fitbit ( my battery lasts a week) I would never go back to Apple Watch

I would recommend the cellular model so in any event you don’t have your phone with you it will still sync and you can contact emergency services. You can purchase through your carrier for financing but if that’s not an issue go to apple they will not try to over sale you.

Garmin! it is dexcom compatible and the battery life is 1,000 x better than apple. I cannot be bothered to charge my watch more than once every other week!

I have super ventricular tachycardia, and I got my Apple Watch covered six years ago through my insurance because I needed to keep an eye on my heart rate at all times I don’t know if your insurance would do that or not. All I needed was a prior authorization from my doctor saying it was a medical device and they covered it.

As an Apple Watch user I can a test to to poor battery life. I’ve heard great things about the garmin! See if your carrier offers it and wait for a sale!

I suggest finding a T1D group online and ask there. They have the specific experience for what you need. I learned the tech for my auto immune from a group and I’m so glad I did because I didn’t waste money. I’m a Garmin girl but my daughter does have an Apple Watch and it is another phone line for the watch to receive calls, and yes that is through cell carrier. Best of luck
