from what I'm gathering it sounds like you have michel over due to him being more emotional for you which is fair if that's all you value in media but you can surely look past this bias and see that jacopo just offers much more as a character, michel is way too explained, it genuinely feels like the writers are holding your hand with him which negates nuance and leaves no room for interpretation whereas with jacopo they moreso rely on subtext and indirect motifs to elaborate on his character, theres overall just much more to look into with jacopo when analyzing both characters and michel is limited in ideas due to what they were trying to achieve with his character, he wasn’t intended to be as expansive in ideas, they all can be utilized and understood under a singular whereas jacopo is diverse in ideas exploring many universal ideas excluded of the main intent for his character. you didnt really elaborate on what makes michel the better character so I’m now giving you the opportunity to tell me why you think michel is the better character, you see how i didnt once mention How jacopo impacted me emotionally? I really love Jacopo and have him as my favorite in Fata because of how much he carries of every character within him. He has that rejected upbringing that the other characters had. He has the selfishness that Mell had, he had the uncontrollable inner desire for greed like Yukimasa had for murder, and then he went on his own journey for atonement like Michel did. Except Jacopo’s journey for atonement ended in tragedy whereas Michel’s ended in his happily ever after with Giselle. I do completely understand why people would have all those other characters above Jacopo, but I feel like all these traits make Jacopo just so much more of a human character. At least for me personally. And then him coming to terms with himself in fragments and finding his atonement for Morgana was so earful. Him wanting to find her a place she can rest easy rather than showing her the world. And not even JUST for atonement for his since, but because he wants it too. It reaffirms the love he has for Morgana and shows that he’s not just wanting this because he wants to atone. Because atonement just for the sake of atonement really isn’t atonement at all. And then of course he also has my favorite dynamic in all of Fata with his dynamic with Morgana. So ultimately, I’m not sure if I can speak for all Jacopo fans when I say this, but at least for me personally, I just find him to be the most relatable and human-like character in all of Fata. It is EXTREMELY close for me though. Jacopo being a top 2-4 character for me while both Morgana and Michel are in my top 5-8 range 🙏

Probably cause he’s just better? He’s quite easily the most layered and complex character in the entire story and the entire narrative basically centers itself around him and his sin. When you consider how much substance he has, how perfectly his arc is depicted, and the insane narrative gravity he has it’s hard to really argue Michel being better than

For me I feel like I’ve seen jacopos story too many times before in media , yes he does have completely different personal circumstances that make his character more interesting but Michel feels far more authentic, and is equally compelling
