Server here. Okay with 15%. Happy about 18%. Super happy about 22%. If you gave me 35% I would be ecstatic. I would never expect anything more than 15-20 though.

Servers also have to tip out to the kitchen too..You have the option to tip what you want..When a server hovers around me while tipping I’ll ask what do you think you deserve on bad service??

Yeah I'm tipping what I want to and I don't go to places that include it. The Owners need to start paying their employees. I work too hard to feed my family, not tip the employees on how much I pay.

18% is standard, 20% is standard if you knoww, and 50% is what regulars like to throw out sometimes to let us know that they appreciate/love us. it's only complicated if you complicate it. at this point, tip or don't tip. This is becoming exhausting.

I tip no more than $20 no matter the amount of the bill. A server does no more work whether the bill is $10 or $1000. A server isn't taking care of only one table at a time. If they take care of 2 tables & both leave a $20 tip, that's the server making $40 an hour. If the server has an attitude, they will get zero tip. If you as a server & don't get a tip, that's your flag to check yourself.
