You can also scribble on a notepad or a piece of rubber and the friction will get the ball rolling again. The problem became worse when they decided to introduce a hole on the pen cap to stop small children from choking after swallowing the lid. This defeats the purpose of the lid because it allows air to enter and dry the ink. You may also find the if you keep your pen in your pocket, it is most likely to leak because the raise in temperature makes the ink expand as in a thermometer.
