I can’t believe so many doctors turn people away with numbers in the single digits. I had to beg my doctor for infusions with a ferritin under 8 🥺 i lived for years thinking that if I was over 10 than I was “fine”

I have hemochromatosis and when I was diagnosed had a ferritin of 500+. My doc told me to donate blood, avoid red meat, etc. My ferritin is now 11, so now what?!

I've never done so many iron infusions and checked iron studies as much as in the past 10 years. I don't know if I even learned about it in ob/gyn residency in the early 2000's.

Ferritin of 5 and quite symptomatic. I haven’t had double digit ferritin in 20 years. No one seems concerned but me 🤷♀️

I was completely dismissed at my doctor appt with a ferritin of 11, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, thinning hair, and extreme fatigue. I was told that it wasn't low enough to cause my symptoms and then sent to the ER for a CT scan to rule out a pulmonary embolism. 🙄 Now I have a massive ER bill and still no help.
