Me and hubby are exactly the same, we’ve been together since 18 and started with $40k of student debt, now we have a net worth of over $1 mil

The only thing I disagree with is the $100 dollar limit, seems cumbersome. I would say $500 for any necessities, and then for non-essentials there should be fun money to set aside, idgaf if my partner saves and buys something for herself, likewise needing to run my yearly $300-400 video game by her seems cumbersome

When me and my husband moved in together and we were young and dumb and racked up cc debt. The past two years we’ve been working to pay it off. This September we will be debt free from. All loans at the age of 30 and 27

This 100%! We’ve been together since I was 15 and when I became a SAHM my dad told my husband contributing to my retirement would be a great way to show his appreciation for my work in the home and my husband whole heartedly agreed

Just a quick observation…. I agree with everything being equal and shared as you do. With that being said, I wouldn’t refer to it as “my retirement” since as you said, it should be “our” retirement.

Did you go back to work as your kids grew up? That's something I worry about- is how easy It would be to go back to work after staying at home
