@amos.kiraithe: 🎥 Likoni Ferry Bridge History (Short Video Script) Likoni Ferry started in 1937 to connect Mombasa Island to the South Coast. It remains the only major water crossing in Mombasa today, carrying thousands of people and vehicles daily. Over the years, congestion and accidents pushed for a solution, leading to proposals for a permanent Likoni Bridge (Mombasa Gate Bridge)—but it is still not built because ships entering the port need open water clearance. A temporary floating pedestrian bridge was introduced in 2021 to ease pressure, but it was later limited due to port operations. 👉 Today, the Likoni Ferry remains one of the busiest and most critical transport links in East Africa. #likoniferry
