I agree with your initial point but not your evidence. Solomon didn’t ask for wisdom to benefit himself. 1 King 3:9 Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people? … and right after it says God was pleased with this because he didn’t ask for riches or things to benefit himself.

I also think that since Solomon has so much wisdom, he forgot how to ABIDE. David wanted God's presence (abide)(remain in Christ). We all experience a time in our life where when we get something we wanted, we feel disconnected to God more. We become distracted, prideful and think we don't need God anymore. At the end of the day, its the relationship with God matters the most over any wisdom, performance, or testimonies

During your life no other king will be as great as you. 14 If you follow me and obey my laws and commands, as your father David did, I will also give you a long life.” 15 After Solomon woke up from the dream, he went to Jerusalem. He stood before the Ark of the Agreement with the Lord, where he made burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. After that, he gave a feast for all his leaders and officers.

I think that Solomon asked for wisdom, bcs he had to lead an entire kingdom and feared to do something against God or to make foolish decisions during his reign ,so I think bcs of that fear, he wanted the wisdom .The sad thing is that when you have wisdom you can choose to use it or not ,and after all he had he still couldn't keep up ,bcs people cannot live the right way even when we know what is right ,so I think the best thing to do is actually to ask God to change his heart and to help him do his will ,and also to always be with him throughout ( God's presence) - This is what I think 😁 God bless you

I still don't feel worthy of God's love - I'm working on it though 😅. All I want from God is to not ignore me. I don't care if he listens, I don't care if he doesn't like me, I don't care about any of it; so long as I get to see God when I die and thank him for everything he's done.
