Fun fact. The actor who played king theoden had improvised the scene which he touched each spears with his sword. He felt it's the right feeling to do it and Peter Jackson allowed it.

The horn call bookending the entire speech, the chord changes lining up with each “ride now” and each “death”, the timely introduction of the Rohan theme, the building from strings at the start of the charge to brass just before impact, the change from minor chord to major chord lining up with the orcs starting to panic. Absolutely masterful composing
