Emg shows no real difference between machines and free weights except cable lateral raise almost 40% more activation. Where the results comes from is time under tension. But don’t forget the workout is 20%. 80% is diet, rest and hydration. Carbs 2.5-3 to 1 of protein. You want real results in the gym? Eat more carbs.

Biomechanically humans are made to move free weights as I've gotten older. I use more machines, but free weights will always be the best for a density and pure mass.
